Iron testing is important when its presence is naturally found with water. Especially for ground water, a composition of iron is natural as it stays in contact with soil or rock thus detecting its presence. Once iron takes the form where it become insoluble it clogs the pipes leading to the failure of the entire system. Such tendencies of iron can lead to boiler depositions affecting the tubes. Feed water once affected with either suspended or dissolved iron will lead to depositions in the boiler metal. A measure of iron content in boilers and cooling waters is necessary.
