Membrane Descalant

WaterEx's RO Membrane descalant as the name suggests is used for maintaining RO membranes from depositions. With the immense backup of our research and technical team the formulation of the product assists the system in maintaining the efficiency. Silica, slimes, oils and other organic components' depositions are descaled with the product. There are two categories of the product, one catering to lower pH membrane and the to higher pH membranes.

RO Membrane High pH Descalant

Product No: WEC-730H

When it comes to contaminants based on organic compounds, like oils, silica, slimes and films, formed due to RO/NF/UF membranes; it is suggested to use an alkaline based product for treatment and cleaning. WaterEx's High pH membrane cleaner is the best choice for such a scenario.

WaterEx's High membrane descalant comprises of various organic dispersants that assist to break the colloidal clay depositions. This way the process of cleaning becomes more efficient as now the biocides can penetrate through easily.

Key Features and Benefits

  • ~ The high pH formulation is great for the treatment of the system.
  • ~ Assists in removal organic compounds including bio-foulants.
  • ~ Proves to be effective even when used in low concentrations.
  • ~ The dispersion feature helps in moving the process faster.
  • ~ For an easy recirculation, use a low foaming cleaner.
  • ~ It is a product of high concentration in an economical price.
  • ~ Even when in liquid state, poses lesser problems.
  • ~ The product is biodegradable.

Application and Dosage

To create a solution of 2-5% volume/volume% of WaterEx's high pH membrane descalant, it must be diluted with DM or permeate water to make a proper solution. Let this solution circulate in the system for at least 2 to 4 hours inclusive of the soaking time duration of about 20 to 60 minutes. Thereon wash the entire equipment till the time an equal pH level is met. Read the cleaning manual for a stepwise procedure of the above process.

Note: Once you get the container having the solution, agitate it before use. If you sense foulants or turbidity before use, get the product replaced.

Handling and Storage

Some safety precautions that must always be followed are:

  • ~ Follow the instructions from the material safety data sheet, as wearing splash goggles, lab coats, gloves, boots and vapour respirator while handling with chemicals or being in a factory premise.
  • ~ If there are splashes on your skin, immediate rinsing is required with water.
  • ~ A splash into the eye, calls for immediate need for medical attention.
  • ~ One must not be injected.

WaterEx's High pH Membrane Descalant must be stored in the very same container as provided by the seller.

Keep the containers in covered, closed, cool, dry place, thus away from heat, flame and direct sunlight.

Packing

WaterEx's high pH RO membrane descalant is available in 30 KG and 60 KG drums.

RO Membrane Low pH Descalant

Product No: WEC-730L

WaterEx's low pH membrane descalant is a formulation that assists in treatment of RO / NF / UF membranes. The composition of the product is of carbonates and sulfates of calcium, barium, magnesium and strontium.

In the case of iron scales, metal oxide depositions, silicates and colloidal clay, WaterEx's low pH Membrane descalant proves to be useful and effective.

Key Features and Benefits

  • ~ The product comprises of organic chemicals.
  • ~ It helps in descaling calcium carbonate, metal hydroxides, sulfate scales of calcium, barium, magnesium, silica and strontium.
  • ~ Results in lower Foaming.
  • ~ Economical purchase.
  • ~ Once in liquid state, it is easier to use.
  • ~ Above all it can be re-used and is also biodegradable.

Application and Dosage

To create a solution of 2-5% voulme/volume% of WaterEx's low pH membrane descalant, it must be diluted with DM or RO spread through water.

Let this solution circulate in the system for at least 2 to 4 hours inclusive of the soaking time duration of about 20 to 60 minutes.

There on wash the entire equipment till the time an equal pH level is met.

Read the cleaning manual for a stepwise procedure of the above process.

Note: Once you get the container having the solution agitate it before use. If you sense foulants before use get the product replaced. In case of multi-pass systems, each pass must be cleaned for optimisation of the performance of the system over all.

In case of a major choked membrane a higher concentration of the solution is advisable. A concentration up to 10% volume/volume must be used after treating it with i.e. a high pH membrane descalant.
