Preparation makeup with high alkalinity, for the systems with high COC, the alkalinity is to be built up with increasing pH of the circulating water. To accommodate a safety the pH circulation of water is to preferably keep at 7.0-8.5. This shall provide a range of alkalinity of p-alk of 5 to M-alk of 250 approximately.

To control the alkalinity, below the limit and for regulating the pH within the range, it is essential to have Acid Dosing. In general 98%, H2SO4 is suggested for this pH improvement.
