The collected metallic corrosion and scale hamper the operations and maintenance of industrial boiler systems and steam raising plants.

Formations of scale are based on the hardness of salts in the boiler water. This scale can create major issues. The major harmful effects of scaling are: Over heating of the boiler, reduction in heat transfer systems, can lead to rapture or failure of tube. To separate the hardness in salts there are two methods:

• Prior to release of water in Boiler with suitable antiscalants.
• Within the boiler it can be treated with scale inhibitors.

Metallic boiler components can be attacked with oxygen related corrosion. This hampers the efficiency of the boilers and increases maintenance costs.

Description and Use

WEC-520 is a synergistic blend of inorganic and organic chemicals designed for the control of corrosion and scale in boiler internals. The specific corrosion inhibitors in WEC-520 provide corrosion protection by the formation of a protective passive film on the metal surfaces. Te protective layer prevents direct contact of the corrosive media (water) with the metal surface.

WEC-520 also contains influential threshold inhibitor to thwart scale creation in feed water pipelines and boiler internals. The crystals distorter and particular dispersants built-in in the product ensures high mobility of the phosphate sludge created so that it is simply detached by blow down. The dispersant also ensures that suspended particulate matter do not collect and are detached by the blow down. WEC-520 is well-suited with approximately all products used in total boiler water treatment program.

Treatment and Dosage

WEC-520 can be dosed directly without dilution. Normally a phosphate reserve is maintained in the boiler water.

The proper treatment levels vary with factors like boiler pressure and water characteristics. The product characteristics and viscosity permit easy feeding by on-line dosage pumps. The desired feeding mode is continuous injection to feed water. WaterEx's engineers shall assist in determining the exact dosage, feeding rate and mode for individual installations.

Handling and Storage

• ~ Be sure to not have direct contact with eyes or skin.
• ~ If in case of contact, rinse the affected area with a lot of pure water.
• ~ DO NOT consume it ever.
• ~ Ask for medical assistanc, immediately.
• ~ In case of ingestion, wash mouth properly and seek medical help.
• ~ Do not induce vomiting.
• ~ Contact the nearest doctor.
• ~ Wear gloves and goggles for safety and avoid extremes of temperature.
